MOUNTAIN FORK
The third annual Mountain Fork Half Marathon is is the second event in the High Knob Triple Crown running series.
The fifth annual 13.6-mile race will take place Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024.
The race starts and finishes at the High Knob Observation Tower in Wise County. The course loops the scenic Mountain Fork watershed, primarily on Forest Service roads, before finishing at the High Knob Observation Tower. The tower stands atop the highest point in the Cumberland Mountains and is located on the George Washington & Jefferson National Forests' Clinch Ranger District. High Knob's elevation is 4,200 feet, and five states can be seen from the tower's platform.
